Montreal — Tuesday, 13th November 2007 — Atopia is proud to announce the presentation of Montreal filmmaker André-Line Beauparlant’s third documentary, Antlers, at Leeds 21st Film festival. This film, which has recently been awarded the Jury’s Special Mention at the Francophone Film Festival in Acadia, will be screened Thursday, 15th of November 2007 at 3 pm at Carriagework Studio.

Antlers is a documentary about a rare and shy species: the big game hunters of the forests of Northern Quebec. Alternating between interviews and savage hunting sequences, the film overflows with humour, tenderness, and heart-stopping authenticity as it touches subjects such as love, death, and religion.

Montreal — Monday, 1st October 2007: Montreal filmmaker André-Line Beauparlant’s third documentary, Antlers, will be screening at the Maison de la Culture Frontenac, Wednesday, 3rd of October 2007 at 7:30pm. Director André-Line Beauparlant is expected to attend. The Maison de la Culture de Frontenac is situated at 2550 Ontario Est, corner of Ontario and Frontenac, behind the métro Frontenac.

After successfully closing the 25th Rendez-Vous du Cinéma Québécois, the film screened to appreciative audiences in theaters across Quebec, as well as several international documentary film festivals such as Thessaloniki.

Antlers is a documentary about a rare and shy species: the big game hunters of the forests of Northern Quebec. André-Line Beauparlant has worked as an art director on numerous auteur films, such as Un dimanche à Kigali for which she was nominated for a Jutra Award. Her previous films, Trois princesses pour Roland and Le petit Jésus both won awards (Best Direction, Hot Docs Film Festival; Yolande & Pierre Perreault Award for Best Aspiring Documentary, Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois) and nominations (Jutra Award for Best Documentary).

André-Line Beauparlant’s third documentary will be presented at the Cinema Paralœil, in Rimouski, Thursday April 5th, 7:30 pm.

Panache will be also presented at Zoom sur le cinema québécois in Saint-André-Avellin on April 22nd, in Rouyn-Noranda on April 29th and 30th, and in Rivière-du-Loup on May 15th.

The film will then open Friday, March 30th at the Clap Cinema everyday at 6:10 pm.

Having successfully closed the 25th Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois with the wild ambience of a hunting party, Panache, the third feature documentary by André-Line Beauparlant, will hit screens March 3rd in Maniwaki!

This highly-anticipated documentary will premiere just a few kilometres from the town in which it was filmed — Montcerf — before beginning its theatrical run on March 16th in Montreal (Cinéma Parallèle, ExCentris), Québec (at the Festival des 3 Amériques and starting on March 30th at the Cinéma Le Clap), and in Rimouski (starting April 5th at the Cinéma Paralœil).

The Maniwaki screenings will be held at the Gilles Carles theatre (Maison de la Culture de la Valleé-de-la-Gatineau) on Saturday March 3rd; Sunday March 4th; Monday March 5th; Tuesday March 6th; and Thursday March 8th.

It is with great pleasure that Panache, the third documentary feature by André-Line Beauparlant, was today announced as being the film chosen to conclude the 25th Rendez-vous du cinéma québécois on February 24th!

Panache will be in theatres as of March 3rd at the Gilles Carle Cinema (Maniwaki), and March 16th at the Cinéma Parallèle - Ex- Centris (Montreal). The film will continue to make its way to the Festival des 3 Amériques on March 29th, Quebec City and Rimouski.
